State Transfers Mining Grant Program to Michigan Tech
Governor John Engler and the Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services were represented by Deputy Director Dr. Kalmin Smith in transfering the grant recipient authority of the Michigan Mine Safety and Health Program over to Michigan Tech. Curt Tompkins, MTU president accepted the letter from the governor at a ceremony at the Memorial Union on July 10. Dr. Francis Otuonye is the Director of the Mine Safety Training program.
