Scholarships/Financial Assistance
Scholarships, grants, and merit awards are available to Michigan Tech
students. More than twenty private scholarships are available specifically
to mining engineering students. Exceptional student awards, which equal
the difference between resident and nonresident tuition, are available
to students from other states in the U.S. and Canada.
Michigan Tech has well-established cooperative education and summer
intern employment programs. Participation is supported financially by
employers and is strongly encouraged by the department. Many MTU mining
engineering students accept offers from all over the world. Co-ops and
internships help students gain valuable first-hand experience and can
often result in an immediate job offer prior to graduation.
