Student Activities

Michigan Tech mining engineering and mineral processing students have a long history of participation in professional mining organizations and societies. The mining student "Hardrock Huskie" teams have won many awards in International Intercollegiate Mining Competition over the years. The contest activities include jackleg drilling, surveying, track standing, panning for gold, hand steeling, mucking, and swede sawing.
